The Tres design department is responsible for creating the tapware and the series that will become new developments each year. To do this, it develops a creation process that affects both the conceptual line of the tap and the technology with which each product will be equipped. Through market studies, internal analyses, commercial needs and the company’s own innovative spirit, the products are designed with functionality and comfort for the user in mind, as well as the improvements that innovation can offer, turning Tres products into unique pieces.

All the products must pass exhaustive tests in the laboratory, such as the cycle bench, where all the products under study are tested; the acoustic chamber, which measures the noise transmitted by the water in pipes to the network; the thermal shock chamber, which is a test with abrupt temperature variation to check the resistance of the external part of the tap; or the salt spray chambers, subjecting the tap to 200 hours of exposure. These processes follow the standards of bodies such as AENOR, NF and ACS, analysing the products marketed and in process, guaranteeing continuous quality.

Brass is the raw material of our tapware and has a low lead content (1.2%). It comes from Germany. Each ingot is subjected to thermal shocks to eliminate and prevent cracks and to check its maximum quality.

Using steel or copper moulds made in the same factory, the brass is melted with robotic systems to shape the tap.

To remove the sand core created to shape the inside of the taps, we centrifuge the bodies with small vibrations for its correct extraction. Then, to remove any remaining sand, they are cleaned with pressurised air.

In order to be able to attach components such as cartridges or hoses at the end of the process, there must be space in the fitting to achieve the exact fit. For this reason, we machine all the cavities and threads of each part with high-precision machines.

We also check the general and specific dimensions of each tap to verify the above processes.

We polish all the surfaces of each tap using high and low production robots, to make the process more efficient. The operators program each robot to give the perfect shape to each part according to its aesthetic characteristics.

For maximum corrosion resistance, durability and stability over time, Tres has developed a special chrome plating, Tres-Micron©, with 10-12 microns of nickel and 0.25-0.35 microns of chromium, providing a chrome plating with maximum surface uniformity. The chrome plating process involves several steps. The first baths are used to clean the parts from grease and dust, then the nickel baths, which change the colour of the brass, and finally the baths in which the chrome plating is embedded into the brass through electrolysis.

If the parts have special finishes (matte black, gold, steel...), they are also applied at this stage.

The tap components are installed to complete the manufacturing process. The operators check the product by performing air and water tests to ensure that the tap works perfectly.

Each tap, once packaged, carries a guarantee with a reference number that informs us of the traceability of the product, who has assembled it and how it has been manufactured.

The boxes with the finished tap are transferred to the shipping department, which manages all shipments and their transportation. Tres makes daily shipments all over the world from its robotised warehouse to make the work more efficient.
