“The African market is full of opportunities. There is a great deal yet to be done and we, as professionals, are ready to provide the solutions they need” - Vincent Henry, Area Manager for Africa and the Middle East

With this interview, we are launching a new section of our blog to highlight what Tres does around the world. Let’s go!

On 11 January, the DELLINO EXCLUSIVE showroom was officially opened in Accra, Ghana. The event lasted until 15 January and was attended by Vincent Henry, Area Manager for Africa and the Middle East, and Carlos Visa, Head of Sales at Tres.

All the brands to be found on the showroom floor gathered for the event. All of these brands are Spanish and each has a separate space exclusively dedicated to showcasing its products.

Among other things, the attendees took part in various meetings with Accra-based construction companies to take a look at their real estate projects, met with the Spanish ambassador in the capital and visited the home of former president John Kufuor to present the project and its importance for the country to him. In short, the event clearly highlighted these Made in Spain brands and the importance of spaces like DELLINO EXCLUSIVE for contributing to economic development in Ghana.

We interviewed Vincent Henry, Area Manager for Africa and the Middle East

Vincent Henry, studied Real Estate in Paris. He has been working at Tres Grifería for eight years, having previously spent time in the Marketing Department and then the Sales Department.

He was recently chosen to fill the role of Area Manager for Africa and the Middle East, with a view to optimising sales and business by Tres in the African and Asian continent.

How are you approaching the challenges that come with being Area Manager?

They are very interesting challenges, so with a lot of passion and excitement about doing something new in both Africa and the Middle East.

The idea to develop the TRES brand in these areas is a challenge because the project is almost brand new. We started working in certain countries not long ago and have achieved great success. That work was done with partners who want and believe in the TRES brand, clients who know that the brand has strong potential and that committing to it in their country will bring them success.

Our distributors are excited about Made in Spain manufacturing and our end customers even more so, who are looking for a quality Made in Spain product.

What does doing business in a country like Ghana mean for Tres? How important are taps in the African market?

It means a great deal because it represents progress on the path to conquering the African market. In the case of Ghana specifically, it means giving the Ghanaian people access to the development of projects with our taps and an attractive brand like TRES.

By being in Ghana and getting closer to sector professionals or end consumers, one realises through feedback that something innovative in terms of taps is missing in the country; it needs products that have committed to design without ignoring functionality, which is basically what TRES offers.

These are the reasons why DELLINO EXCLUSIVE decided to include Tres Grifería in its project. Its founder, Edmund N. Delle, made that clear when he said “our idea is to build something new, something grand, for the people of Ghana and for the continent of Africa”.

What would you highlight from the impressive DELLINO EXCLUSIVE showroom?

DELLINO EXCLUSIVE has the most complete showroom that exists anywhere in terms of the taps from Tres. It has 200 m2 of space solely dedicated to our brand, where visitors can find our products on display on decorative panels, in bath tubs, kitchens, etc. They can also see all our finishes and our entire collections, as well as various other items for kitchen spaces, showers and accessories.

The DELLINO EXCLUSIVE project is simply stunning. They have made a strong commitment to our brand because they know that having a display of this size will catch the eye of every professional in the sector, as well as end customers who bring architects and interior designers to choose the taps for their projects.

All the invited guests who came to the showroom on the day it opened were frankly stunned.

What is the short- and long-term future that awaits Tres Grifería in the African market?

The African market is full of opportunities. There is a great deal yet to be done and we, as professionals, are ready to provide the solutions they need.

We are currently operating in other African countries, such as Nigeria and Tanzania, where we have partners that are very excited to be working with the brand on upcoming showroom reveals, as well as a major expansion project ongoing in Morocco and Tunisia.

Our sector is growing and we need to harness that opportunity. Professionals are looking for and expressing an increasing desire for products of value. They are always thinking of new designs, innovative technologies and taps in a range of different finishes, because consumers have realised that taps play an important role in bathroom and shower spaces.

Tres provides these options to customers. Hence why the brand has achieved such great success in the African countries where we already do business.

I have no doubt that we will be operating in more countries very soon because they also feel a need to develop. Things are changing and we want to be part of that change.
