TRES to supply its tapware to Sant Sebastià Residential Centre for people with intellectual disabilities

06/2020

TRES is collaborating with Fundació Via Assistencial in the construction of a new residential centre in Barcelona, where it will provide all of the tapware.

Fundació Via Assistencia is a not-for-profit social entity with a long track record of caring for those who need assistance or are at risk of social exclusion. A few years ago, the Foundation proposed the construction of Sant Sebastià Residential Centre, located in the Nou Barris neighbourhood of Barcelona, in an effort to increase the number of residential places available in the city for people with disabilities and those without sufficient resources. Due to the current scarcity of residential centre places available—with only 1,331 places in all of Catalonia for its population of 26,901 people with a physical or mental disability, and a waiting time of three years— this makes this residential centre a vital resource.

TRES is collaborating with the social entity in the construction of a new residential centre in Barcelona, where it is to provide all of the tapware. The flat-tres series of taps has been chosen for the sinks, thanks to their ergonomic design and adaptability to the different spaces in the residence, while the showers will use thermostatic taps from the same series, which allow the user to have complete control over the temperature of the water and are very easy to use. In addition, all of the residential centre's kitchens will be fitted with taps featuring a high spout and robust body, which will make them easier to use by all on a daily basis.

The centre will have capacity for 48 people and will offer residential services, both temporary and continuing, boasting facilities for offering specialised attention to people with intellectual disabilities, behavioural disorders and psychosis, accompanied or not by social-family issues. It is currently the only residence in the city of Barcelona for people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

The newly built and highly efficient building will be completely integrated into its surroundings and perfectly adapted to the reality and everyday needs of each person. It is comprised of community units that help develop and boost personal skills and abilities and allows those staying at the centre to live their day-to-day life as autonomously as possible.

Sant Sebastià Residential Centre, and all of the services and spaces that comprise it, have been specifically designed to optimise the carrying out of assistance, support and social inclusion tasks.
