Archello Projects (I): Study Exclusive, the favourite collection for bathroom spaces

Tres is committed to raising the profile of architecture and interior design projects. In today’s post, we bring you a compilation of projects by Archello, who have used our Study Exclusive collection in their work.

A house that epitomises the word ‘home’

Casa de Piedra – Srta. Rottenmeier Estudio de Arquitectura

“When a family wants to live in an iconic and comfortable house, its design becomes Casa de Piedra

The architecture firm Srta. Rottenmeier Estudio de Arquitectura uses this perennial and long-lasting material to convey that reassuring personality that any house should have in representing shelter and home.

A smart combination of wooden volumes and white concrete cladding enrich and reduce the roughness of the limestone to create very delicate spaces that embrace the interiors. The Casa de Piedra stands as a project that combines design and expertise in equal parts to create a timeless work of architecture that emphasises its Mediterranean nature.

Our elegant matte black Study Exclusive recessed tapware has been used in the bathroom.

Spacial reorganisation while maintaining the original essence

M15 – Minimo.pro

The M15 project comprises the energy-related renovation and spacial refurbishment of a single-family dwelling built during the 1940s in Madrid within the Colonia Unión Eléctrica Madrileña protected urban area.

The work has respected the original character of the building and its surroundings to focus on two fundamental challenges: improving the thermal insulation and installing a new climate control system capable of guaranteeing comfort inside the property; and a reorganisation of the interior to encourage interconnection between the various spaces within the house and to enhance their relationship with the outdoor spaces.

The façade originally consisted of two parts. The main section had a smooth plaster finish while the secondary section (the old garage) had a face brick finish. To preserve the appearance of the original materials that define the protected façade, work was done on the main section by installing an exterior thermal insulation system over the original façade while the face brick section was insulated with an interior layer. This thermal insulation improvement was combined with a geothermal heat pump, a renewable energy source that powers the heating and cooling system through pipes in the floor.

The new layout inside the house was based on reorganising the vertical communication area that splits the house into two levels. The ground floor was given three interconnected areas: the original garage converted into a kitchen, living areas and the main lobby. All these spaces have a direct connection to the outdoor living spaces. The bedrooms and other private spaces are located upstairs, where a small metal staircase in the hallway provides access to the space immediately beneath the sloping roof.

For the main bathroom, it was decided to use our chrome-plated tall single lever mixer tap for sinks, which stands out in this space where light and neutral colours are the main feature.

Las Cuadras: The temporary retreat of a photographer and his animals

Las Cuadras – Estudio Ji Arquitectos

This project involved converting some old horse stables into a temporary retreat for a photographer and his animals. No strict specifications were provided; it simply needed to be somewhere where the photographer could watch his animals in the countryside, work and - as the studio itself insists - “make rice”. “We were looking for a space that spoke of what it was, not what it is now. The elements we worked with were the step marks left by horses, horseshoe prints. Indelible footprints that never disappear. In this case, we were able to work with those old worn footprints physically: The horseshoes of Explorador. The underlying concept behind this renovation is a piece protected by a synthetic tree that shields, gives shade and imitates a small wood.”

For the bathroom in this property, we can see that Estudio Ji chose our recessed single lever mixer tap in matte white to help create a relaxed atmosphere in the space with a refreshing touch.
